148. JEANNE D'ARC

Music: By Claude Debussy [?]

Choreography: By George Balanchine.

Premiere: July 4, 1935, His Majesty's Theatre, London. Pianist: Stephen Kovacs.

Cast: Alanova.

Note: Balanchine recalled choreographing a work called Joan of Arc for Alanova, but did not think the music was by Debussy. The program for Alanova's solo recital of July 4, 1935, lists Debussy as the composer of a work called Joan of Arc but gives no choreographer.
