163.1. [CABARET DANCE FOR JOSEPHINE BAKER]

Music: Unknown.

Choreography: By George Balanchine.

Premiere: February 25 [?], 1936, Chez Josephine, New York.

Note: A 'daring pash [apache] adagio' (Variety, 3/11/36) for Baker and two men. Chez Josephine was Baker's after-hours nightclub. It opened February 25, 1936, presumably with Balanchine's number on the program.
