Stravinsky Database Online
Now available live on the Internet is Stravinsky the Global Dancer, a database record of potentially all the dances to the music of this key 20th century composer. A project of Roehampton University of Surrey, compiled by Stephanie Jordan and Larraine Nicholas, the database comprises over 1000 entries to date and viewers are invited to make contributions to expand the current bank of information. Balanchine is, unsurprisingly, the most featured choreographer with 39 entries to his name. The database can be found at www.roehampton.ac.uk/stravinsky.

Dance Films Association's 31st annual Dance On Camera Festival 2003 presents Music Dances: Balanchine Choreographs Stravinsky
Music Dances: Balanchine Choreographs Stravinsky celebrates the seminal collaboration of the 20th century between a composer and a choreographer. Conceived and written by dance historian and musicologist Stephanie Jordan, the video shows the extraordinary range of ways in which Balanchine approached Stravinsky’s music over the years. The major focus is Agon, but sections from many other Stravinsky/Balanchine ballets are analyzed such as Apollo, Duo Concertant and the Divertimento from Le Baiser de la Fée. | Read more about this event »
